5 trendy taps for your bathroom in 2023
Choosing the right bathroom taps is often a complicated stage in any project. Whether you’re renovating or building a property, and depending on the ambience you want to give to this room, the choice is indeed plethoric but the question essential!
On-pipe, concealed, wall-mounted, floor-mounted, etc? There are many collections to choose from for a wide range of uses. When it comes to design, it’s not advisable to choose a contemporary tap to fit out a retro bathroom, and vice versa. One thing is certain: as the centrepiece of your bathroom, the choice of tapware should not be overlooked.
How do you select the best taps for your bathroom?
Hydropolis, designers of your bathroom space, selects for your projects high quality taps with unique designs, imagined by the greatest designers. So what are the major tap trends of the moment? Hydropolis, custom bathroom designers, tells you more!
1/ Retour aux années vingt avec la nouvelle collection Twenties
With the Twenties collection of taps for washbasins, sanitary fittings, baths and showers, the classic-contemporary style is given a new twist with a refined design inspired by the 1920s.
Designed in collaboration with Gensler, the new Devon&Devon range explicitly recalls the simplicity of form, the richness of materials and the attention to detail of American Art Deco, from which the prestigious design studio also drew inspiration for the Holiday and Dove baths.
A sophisticated stylistic code that is both innovative and familiar makes all the Twenties application variations incomparable pieces, each of which can be customised in terms of materials and finishes, and coordinated with all the products in the Devon&Devon collections. Chrome, matt black, bright nickel, 14kt gold, 24kt gold and aged brass: all the items in the Twenties collection are available in six different finishes.
Not only can you choose the finish of the brass bases, but you can also personalise the tops of the handles and taps with precious inserts in Bianco Carrara or Calacatta Oro marble. The free combination of base and lever finishes offers surprising solutions, such as the completely new combination of matt black and Bianco Carrara marble.
2/ The origins of well-being, emotion and beauty
Discovered at Milan Design Week 2022, GESSI‘s collection of taps has been enriched by an innovation that marks a real return to colour. It represents a return to freedom of expression, with the aim of creating a wellbeing space that reflects our own image.
ORIGINI is the result of a happy harmony of colours, materials and finishes. A collection that, for the first time, offers the possibility of designing a more intimate living space based on the personality of those who live there. It offers a variety of colours and finishes carefully selected to harmonise in a wide range of contexts. The most personal definition of the bathroom is based on five iconic colours and triads that can be combined at will, from warm, natural tones to more neutral, technical ones: powder pink, grey clay, ochre, coral brick and agave green.
Zoom in on the five triads available:
WARM triad (CYPRESS / WARM BRONZE / DARK BRONZE)
NEUTRAL triad (GREIG / FINOX NICKEL BROSSED / NICKEL)
ACCENT Triad (OCHRE / BLACK MATT / BRASS BROWN)
MATTER Triad (CORAL / METAL BLACK / BRUSHED COPPER)
NATURE Triad (AGAVE / BRUSHED METAL BLACK / CHROME)
In the ORIGINI collection by GESSI, rigour and softness, lightness and solidity, design and innovation coexist through the geometric shape of the circle, which becomes the predominant and recurring sign in all the elements of the collection, creating a clean and architectural visual play. Origini’s timelessness is also based on the modularity of the elements that make up the collection. Each piece is designed to have the same diameter and fit in with any bathroom. To complete the series and mix the pleasures, four interchangeable inserts can be positioned freely on the various elements of the complete collection: plain, polished metal or with a millelight effect in the different finishes or with a motif called ART, with geometric graphics that recall the rounded shapes of the collection.
3/ Back to basics
Isy22 is the new collection of taps designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez for Zucchetti, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iconic Isy with a unique, innovative and avant-garde new system, enriched by unexpected contemporary finishes. Ysy22 is a refined and essential version of a tap imagined by the design studio. The unnecessary has been eliminated to make way for greater modularity and design. Isy22 is now available in an updated form to meet more contemporary needs.
New features have been added, such as the progressive mixer and the no-touch electronic tap. Its new 22 cm diameter, the origin of its name, makes the product particularly suitable for the hotel trade. But what you’ll particularly like are the many new finishes and colours for bathrooms out of the ordinary.
Isy22 is an extremely versatile design; its unique character makes it an icon of yesterday, today and tomorrow, diversifying a product destined for a more sophisticated world.
4/ Roundness and geometry
Agape presents the Limón tap collection designed by the talented Patricia Urquiola. LIMÒN’s shape and design evoke the age-old concept of agricultural grafting. A circular section is joined to the tap to form a single unit. This new collection of taps brings freshness and innovation to what are sometimes more classic selections.
Limòn is available in all bathroom tap models (for washbasin, bath, shower, bidet and toilet) and in a wide variety of finishes (chrome, burnished and brushed, natural brushed brass, matt black).

5/ Water as a source of inspiration
The shape of Sailing clearly refers to the world of water and to Lake Orta, Fantini‘s Genius Loci. It is a poetic reinterpretation of the classic shape of the cleat, the essential nautical element for attaching mooring cables to boats. The Yabu Pushelberg design studio took the image of a functional, technical object from the nautical world and transformed it into an elegant, decorative bathroom detail.
A light, poetic and contemporary silhouette, Sailing adds a new piece to the Fantini catalogue and to the company’s ongoing experimentation with new expressive languages. Sailing is available in three PV finishes (Gun Metal, Matte Gold and Black) and can be used for shower, bath and washbasin fittings.
