Botteganove

The son of a doorman, Christian Pegoraro grew up surrounded by pottery and ceramic ovens. It is therefore quite natural that this young entrepreneur launched a few years ago his own brand, BottegaNove.

At the origin of BottegaNove, a desire to fight against the standardization of forms and the lack of personality characteristic of many mosaic works. The brand then breaks conventions, giving this traditional craft a modern vision, while drawing on the richness of its history.

The name BottegaNove itself sounds like a tribute to the Italian city Nove, made famous in the 18th century for its ceramics and pottery work.

Botteganove is Italian excellence. Specializing in the production of ceramic and porcelain mosaics, the brand has developed a dynamic approach to collections and design procedures.

Christian Pegoraro and his company have managed to combine the tradition of ancient craftsmen and a modern vision, in order to best meet the needs of architects and customers without any project limit.

It is precisely the uniformity of forms and the lack of personality of many artisanal products that explain why the founder of the company began to experiment with new procedures and then created brand new collections.

Associated with the talent of designer Cristina Celestino , whom he appointed to the brand’s Artistic Direction, Christian Pegoraro and Cristina Celestino form a striking duo: “What fascinated me immediately was the way the liquid material became tiles,” explains Cristina. It is a very precise process, of the order of the ritual; an alchemist’s knowledge transmitted by tradition.  This mixture of technical notions and almost magical rituals deeply enchanted me.”

Since then, Cristina designs particularly original mosaic collections, such as her latest creation “Plumage” in which she integrates nature into our interiors. Inspired, as the name suggests, by bird feathers, these tiles, once assembled, give the illusion of a whole plumage.

By playing with reliefs and shades of color, they transform a flat surface into a three-dimensional space.
