A bit of history…
Fragmenti Cotto has its roots in the region of Impruneta near Florence in Italy, in the Ema and Greve valleys, rich in a unique clay called “Galestro”. The geological structure of its hills consists of silt and clay. It is this particular composition of the soil that gave birth to the name “Terracotta” or “Cotto Fiorentino”.

It is thanks to this clay that the Fragmenti collections get their superior quality and this distinctive ochre color. After being degassed, extruded and shaped, the terracotta loses its natural moisture thanks to a long air drying process of about 42 hours. Cooking at very high temperatures forges the material and gives it the character and durability that make Fragmenti, a reference in the manufacture of handmade terracotta Made in Italy.

Fragmenti Cotto terracotta bricks are available in five distinctive formats and thus offer the possibility of mixing shapes and creating custom-made decorations (13×98 mm/ 13x48mm/ 13x148mm/ 23x148mm/ 23x298mm).
