Sicis

Sicis is the acronym for the Latin expression Sic Immensos Clarosque Inceptus Somniavi, which means “So I dreamed of a great and famous company”.

Sicis is an Italian company specialized in the production of mosaic coverings, furniture, complements, fabrics and jewelry.  Maurizio Leo Placuzzi, founder of the brand, took up the challenge of bringing the art of mosaic back to its former prestige. Creative and entrepreneur, he quickly created an R&D pole within his company and patented various methods related to the cutting and laying of tiles. A way to position Sicis as THE reference of the Italian mosaic in the world.

Among other things, Sicis has patented:

– The installation method with adhesive paper on a mounting grid that creates mosaic portions that are easy to install and transport.
– The micro-mosaic technique which also applies to furniture and accessories.

At Sicis, mosaic comes in several forms: marble, vitreous paste, Murano glass, metals and precious stones.
CLASSIC MOSAIC:
The Sicis catalogue offers a wide variety of unique and inimitable mosaic coverings. Collections in glass with tiles in solid color, available in a range of more than 700 colors, such as the lines in square shape (Iridium, Colibri), diamond (Diamond) or artistic, (Clover, Neoglass). There are also collections in new formats for mosaic, such as “Structura”, available in panels with tiles of different thicknesses, dimensions, colors and textures for a stunning three-dimensional effect.

MARBLE MOSAIC:
The collection dedicated to marble mosaics, offers series made with luxury marbles, onyx and stones, inserts are made with metal, gold or platinum sheets or vitreous paste, wood or mother of pearl. The Cosmati collection is inspired in particular by the work of the master marblers who decorated the Romanesque churches in the Middle Ages. The collections The One Marble or The Mosaic Bug, are available in multiple geometric, floral and figurative decorations. The marble mosaics created by the Sicis workshops offer absolutely unique decorations that sublimate prestigious places and make them eternal.
METAL MOSAIC:
With the metal mosaic, Sicis creates a new approach to mosaic. The result of an advanced and patented technological process, this mosaic series is made of steel or brass.   Its high resistance to oxidation, scratches and stains makes it a perfect use for wet rooms like the bathroom. A coating that also offers a particularly high degree of hygiene due to its corrosion resistance, the compactness of its surface that makes it non-porous and the high level of elimination of bacteria during cleaning.

Metal mosaics come in multiple patterns, shapes and finishes prochent industrial design, with different shapes and finishes and multiple possibilities of combinations.
VETRITE:
Vetrite® is another exclusive patent from Sicis. It is characterized by glass slabs with opal reflections, a mixture of glass, polymer and metals. The special composition of these tiles makes it possible to fold them and use them in bi-sided, backlit, semi-transparent or opaque versions. They can also be used, as coatings, but also for multiple applications, from exterior coatings to parapets, partition walls to furniture doors. The Vetrite range is available in several collections available in different patterns, textures or reproductions of natural stones, such as the Electric Marble or Gem Glass collection. Vetrite® is therefore a high-end and extremely versatile decorative coating product that adapts to any surface.

Sicis pushes the use of mosaic beyond its limits. A way to perpetuate an ancestral Italian know-how and to reinterpret in a modern way a material with infinite possibilities.
